DUSHANBE, September 25, 2015, Asia-Plus – Tajik President Emomali Rahmon left for New York today, leading a Tajik official delegation to the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit, which takes place on September 25-27.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Aslov, Presidential Adviser for External Relations Issues Erkinkhon Rahmatullozoda and some other officials are accompanied President Rahmon on this trip.

Emomali Rahmon will also co-chair at one of high-level events on the sidelines of the UN Sustainable Development Summit.

The United Nations summit for the adoption of the post-2015 development agenda is convened as a high-level plenary meeting of the General Assembly.

More than 150 world leaders are expected to attend the UN Sustainable Development Summit to formally adopt an ambitious new sustainable development agenda.  This momentous agenda will serve as the launch pad for action by the international community and by national governments to promote shared prosperity and well-being for all over the next 15 years.
