DUSHANBE, October 12, 2015, Asia-Plus – The Secretary-General of the Austrian Ministry of European and Foreign Affairs, Mr. Michael Linhart, is arriving in Dushanbe today a on a two-day visit.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, Austrian diplomat will hold talks with high-ranking Tajik state officials to discuss bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Austria.

The Secretary-General for Foreign Affairs is responsible for the central administration of all political and organizational matters of the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs.  In addition the Secretary-General is Head of the Section I (Central Affairs) of the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs.

Dr. Linhart had previously served as head of the department for Development Cooperation at the Austrian Ministry of European and International Affairs.

After his law studies in Salzburg and Vienna, Mr. Michael Linhart joined the Foreign Ministry in 1986.  In the course of his career he was posted, among other positions, to the Austrian representations in Addis Ababa and Zagreb; he was the Austrian Ambassador in Damascus and later on in Athens.

Michael Linhart is married and the father of three children.
