DUSHANBE, October 15, 2015, Asia-Plus – A number of cooperation documents have been signed on the sidelines of the 2015 Dushanbe International Entrepreneurship Forum that took place at the Kokhi Borbad State Complex in Dushanbe on October 14, according to the State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest).

Thus, GosKomInvest and Bavarian Chemical Cluster (Germany) signed a memorandum of cooperation on the study and organization of clusters in industrial and agrarian sectors and development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the mentioned sectors.

Besides, GosKomInvest and China’s Norinco International Cooperation Ltd signed a memorandum of cooperation on construction of hydropower plants and power transmission lines in the Danghara district, construction of a pump station and a water-purifying station in Dushanbe, construction of a coal-powered heat and power plant in the Rasht district, as well as construction of a railway and development of coalfields.

GosKomInvest also signed a memorandum of understanding on establishment of a joint investment insurance company in Tajikistan with China’s Central Huijin Investment Ltd.

GosKomInvest and China’s Zhong Min Tou signed a memorandum of understanding on launching a joint leasing enterprise in Tajikistan.

GosKomInvest also signed a memorandum of understanding on construction of an explosive manufacturing plant in southern Tajikistan with Tajik-Chinese Mining Company.

Besides, GosKomInvest and the Department of Agriculture of Tuscany (Italy) signed a memorandum of understanding on creation of the Council of Entrepreneurs of Tajikistan and Italy.

Other agencies and enterprises of Tajikistan have also signed cooperation agreements with various foreign companies.       

We will recall that high-ranking Tajik state officials, experts, as well as senior representatives of a number of international organizations and companies participated in the Forum that offered a platform to identify new opportunities for cooperation between the state and business.  Participants had a chance to discuss current challenges and opportunities in sustaining private sector growth, map prospects for private investments, and explore state”s role in fostering business partnerships. The Forum also touched upon the investment opportunities in the context of the greater region.

Above all, the Forum showcased the emerging investment opportunities in Tajikistan’s energy and industry, finance and agrarian sectors.
