DUSHANBE, April 21, 2016, Asia-Plus – On Wednesday April 20, Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Aslov met with United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs Wu Hongbo in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly Special Session on the World Drug Problem, the High Level Thematic Debate on Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and the Ceremony of Signing of the Paris Pact on Climate Change.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, the two sides discussed state and prospects of cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Nations agencies, including the UN Department for Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) and the UN-Water (an inter-agency entity of the United Nations, endorsed in 2003 for the follow-up process of the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development).

They also exchanged views on global water problems and timely achievement of the sustainable development goals.
