Memorial ceremonies in the most countries of the Islamic world, except in Central Asia, are conducted without the slaughter of livestock and food says the well-known Tajik journalist, Professor Ibrahim Usmanov.

The amendments to the law "On the regulation of traditions, celebrations and ceremonies" proposed by Tajik President Emomali Rahmon regarding all funeral and mourning rites without the slaughter of cattle and the offer of food are observed in most countries of the Islamic world today. Exceptions are only the countries of Central Asia, Professor Ibrahim Usmanov said in an interview with AP.

"In the Arab countries, Iran and many other states, during the funeral rites, people pray for the peace of the deceased soul, there no one can even allow food to be served at such events," the professor says.

Ibrahim Usmanov also supports the president's proposal that in future the circumcision ceremony be conducted in the family circle and without the services of artists.

"The circumcision ceremony denotes the boy's adherence to Islam, and this event is purely family," Usmanov said.

He recalled that even during the existence of the Soviet Union, many families of the circumcision of boys were combined with the grandfather's retirement or other family celebrations, jubilees.

Recall that, according to the draft amendments proposed by the president, all funeral rites should be held without the slaughter of cattle and without food, including the rituals of the "third day", "fortieth day" and "anniversary." In other forbidden rites, such as "Oshi sari tahta", "Dushanbegi", "Jumagi", "Haft", "Bist", "Shashmohagi" slaughter of cattle and providing of food are also prohibited.

The draft proposes a new procedure for circumcision, according to which in the future it will be conducted with the family and without the services of artists.

Circumcision is also proposed to be carried out with the consent of the parents until the twentieth day after the birth of a boy in the relevant medical institutions free of charge, in accordance with the procedure established by the authorized state body in the healthcare sphere.
