On Wednesday February 21, President Emomali Rahmon inaugurated a new building of the Aviation Faculty at the Military Institute of the Defense Ministry of Tajikistan, according to the Tajik president’s official website.  

The new building reported consists of twelve classes, nine workrooms for officers and teachers, dormitory for students, gym hall, canteen and other auxiliary rooms.

Established in 2008, the Aviation Faculty has reportedly turned out more than 150 officers so far.  

The Air Force is the aerial military service branch of the Armed Forces of Tajikistan.  According to some sources, it is currently a small branch, consisting of 20 aircraft. It takes part in search-and-rescue operations and transportation.
