On Tuesday February 20, Tajik Ambassador to Turkey Mahmadali Rajabiyon held talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to discuss cooperation.

According to the Tajik MFA information, the two discussed a wide range of issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkey. 

Rajabiyon and Çavuşoğlu reportedly exchanged views on cooperation between the two countries in the fields of trade, tourism, education and culture.  

They pointed to the necessity of thoroughly expanding mutually beneficial cooperation and expressed readiness for further development of existing mechanisms of interaction for the achievement of the common goals, the Tajik MFA information department said.     

Recall, Tajikistan and Turkey intends to bring their bilateral trade to 1 billion U.S. dollars.  On December 12, 2017, Tajik Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda met in Istanbul with his Turkish counterpart Binali Yildirim.

Rasoulzoda and Yildirim reportedly expressed their determination to increase bilateral trade volume up to 1 billion USD, outlining textile industry, hydroelectric power, mining, and establishment of joint ventures as areas that could drive the bilateral trade between the two countries.
