The Ministry of Health and Social Protection has promptly reacted to criticism from the president and the minister of health has taken the provision of the free first medical aid in all medical facilities under his personal control.

The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Nasim Olimzoda, yesterday afternoon held a meeting and ordered to remove all shortcomings in the Ministry’s activities that had been voiced by President Emomali Rahmon in his annual address to a joint session of both houses of parliament.

The minister reportedly took the provision of the free first medical aid in all medical facilities of the country under his personal control.

The minister also demanded at the meeting that all shortcomings in the field of providing emergency medical services to the population should be removed.

In his annual address to the joint session of both houses of parliament, President Emomali Rahmon yesterday noted that there are still shortcomings in the activities of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, including the provision of the free first medical aid, which is funded by the budget.

According to him, people complain that medical workers demand money while providing the first medical aid.
