Mongolian Deputy Foreign Minister Batmunh Battsetseg heading a delegation of Mongolian Foreign Ministry will visit Dushanbe from April 13-16, a source in the Tajik government told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, Tajik and Mongolian foreign ministries will hold political consultations here to discuss issues related to political, economic, cultural, and educational cooperation between the two countries.

While in Dushanbe, Mongolian delegation members will also conduct negotiations with senior representatives of the economic bloc ministries and agencies, the source added.  

Diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Mongolia were established on April 24, 1992.  

A number of cooperation documents, including a government-to-government agreement on trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Mongolia, were signed during President Emomali Rahmon’s official visit to Mongolia in May 2009.
