The number of Tajikistan’s export goods has increased more than three times over the past three years.

First Deputy Chairman of Tajikistan’s Customs Service, Azim Haidar, has reportedly remarked this in Geneva at a meeting with Mr. Arancha Gonzalez, an executive director of the International Trade Center (ITC).

Haidar reportedly noted during the talks that due to measures taken by the government export share in the country’s foreign trade turnover had increased from 20 percent in 2015 to 25.3 percent in 2018.  

Tajik senior customs officer that the number of Tajikistan’s trading partners over the same three-year period has increased from 90 to 110 countries.

According to him, the number of Tajikistan’s export goods has increased from 150 items in 2015 to 480 items in 2018.  

According to data from the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan, Tajikistan’s foreign trade turnover in 2018 amounted to 4.222 billion U.S. dollars.  

Exports of goods last year amounted to more than 1.073 billion U.S. dollars.  In 2018, exports reportedly accounted for 25.3 percent of Tajikistan’s foreign trade turnover.  

In 2018, raw materials accounted for more than 50 percent of Tajikistan’s exports, textiles accounted for more than 20 percent and precious and semi-precious stones and products from them accounted for some 25 percent of the country’s exports.
