President Emomali Rahmon, who is also Head of the Government of Tajikistan, has introduced a number of staff changes to the Interior Ministry. 

According to the Tajik president’s official website, Rustam Mirzomurodzoda, who had previously served as first deputy chief of the Interior Ministry special unit (Vohidi Makhsus) to ensure public order on the way of the movement of the head of state and high-ranking guests since February 2022, was appointed to head the Interior Ministry Traffic Police Directorate, replacing Suhrob Qurbonzoda.

Qurbonzoda had served as Chief of the Interior Ministry Traffic Police Directorate since August last year.  

From May 2020 to February 2022, Rustam Mirzomurodzoda served as head of the Interior Ministry’s Office in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).     

Rustam Mirzomurodzoda, 52 has a military rank of Major-General.  He has served in internal affairs bodies since1991.  He had headed the Khatlon Traffic Police Directorate, Muhofiza State Service for Khatlon Province, Sughd Traffic Police Directorate and Dushanbe Traffic Police Directorate.       

Besides, chiefs of police departments in Rasht Valley and Rasht district, Interior Ministry special unit (Vohidi Makhsus) to ensure public order on the way of the movement of the head of state and high-ranking guests, Interior Ministry Directorate for Tourism and Ecology, and Dushanbe Traffic Police Directorate were replaced today.
