On the occasion of Tajikistan's Independence Day, celebrated in the country on September 9, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon today presented high state awards and awarded honorary titles to artists and literati, government officials, journalists and representatives of other fields.

Isfandier Gulomov and Turakhon Akhmadkhonov were awarded the title of "People's Artist of Tajikistan".

Turakhon Akhmadkhonov, one of Tajikistan's most venerable actors and directors, celebrated his 90th birthday in June this year. He directed famous productions of Shakespeare's "King Lear", Schiller's "The Robbers" and Atoboev's "Kiyomi Flap". He has been working as an actor and director at the Lokhuti State Drama Theater for more than 50 years.

Isfandier Gulomov is a wellknown actor of Tajik cinema and theater, a graduate of Russian Institute of Theatrical Art (GITIS). He starred in domestic and foreign films and was awarded the title of "Honored Artist of Tajikistan" in 2018.

Yunus Yusufy received the title of "People's Writer of Tajikistan" from among the writers. He is a successful novelist, the author of collections and publications in print and electronic media, such as "Sado homosh nameshavand", "Zan va ankabut", "Afsonai Haftdodaron", "Otashafraz", "Shinak" and others.

Latofat Kenjayeva, a writer, was awarded the title of "People's Poetess of Tajikistan." Kenjayeva is a versatile creative personality: a poet, writer and journalist. In poetry, she performs under the pseudonym "Sabrin". She celebrated her 75th birthday in June this year.

Latofat kenjaeva is the author of many collections: "Tarona", "Maroni of the rank, Sharara jotirao", "Sanduja marvarid", "Rosie Shabnam", "Musica VA Durdona", "OI hususta", "Noma BA barodar", "Gurba Somon VA AI orash", "Naotoshi Dunya cysts?", etc. Many of her works have been translated into other languages, she also translates the leading authors in the Tajik language.

The title of "People's Artist of Tajikistan" was also awarded to singer and performer Davlat Nazri and the head of the dance ensemble "ҶaҳOnoro" Dilorom Sattorzoda.

The head of the Executive Office of the President of Tajikistan, Ozoda Rahmon, the head of the presidential press service, Zarobiddin Kosimi, and the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, Rahim Saidzoda, also received awards from the President.

In total, about 200 people were awarded, including:

23 people were awarded the title of "Honored Worker of Tajikistan";

1 person the title of "National Writer of Tajikistan";

2 people the title of "Artist of Tajikistan";

5 people the title of "Honored Artist of Tajikistan";

3 people the Order of Dusti;

1 person Sharaf Order of the first degree;

11 people Sharaf Order of the II degree;

107 people Hizmati Shoista medals;

7 people Certificates of Honor of the Republic of Tajikistan.

In addition, 12 young scientists who have performed outstanding work in the field of science and technology have been awarded the Ismoili Somoni Prize in 2025. Another 15 people were awarded a special state prize for scientists and teachers of natural, exact and mathematical sciences.
