The government delegations of Tajikistan and China in Beijing signed 8 new intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents on expanding cooperation between the two countries, the press service of the Head of the Republic of Tajikistan reports.

The parties agreed to cooperate in such areas as transport, security, economy, technology, environmental protection, statistics and culture. During the official meetings, representatives of both sides signed the following documents:

– Agreement between the Governments of Tajikistan and China on International road Transport;

– Memorandum on the implementation of the Global Security Initiative between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China;

– Memorandum on Human Development between the Ministry of Economic Development of Tajikistan and the Chinese Agency for International Cooperation;

– Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of mining and new technologies between the Ministry of Industry of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Natural Resources of the People's Republic of China;

– Memorandum on the digital economy between the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the State Data Administration of the People's Republic of China;

– Memorandum on Green and low-carbon development between the Committee for Environmental Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Committee for Reform and Development of the People's Republic of China;

– Memorandum of Statistical Cooperation between the Agency for Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the National Bureau of Statistics of the People's Republic of China;

– Memorandum of Cooperation between the Tajik National Conservatory named after T. Sattorov and the Tianjin Conservatory of the People's Republic of China.

On September 3, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon also met with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji in Beijing. The parties discussed key issues of bilateral cooperation, including political dialogue, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties.

The active development of inter-parliamentary relations, the implementation of major projects within the framework of the Belt and Road initiative, as well as China's participation in more than 700 companies operating in Tajikistan were noted.

The interlocutors paid special attention to the digitalization of the economy, cooperation in the field of ICT and education, as well as cooperation in the field of security within the SCO and the "Central Asia-China" format.

On August 31, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived in China on a working visit, where he took part in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and other international events, and also held a number of bilateral meetings.

Following the SCO summit, which took place on September 1 in Tianjin, 15 new documents on cooperation were signed. Among them is the Agreement on the establishment of the SCO Anti-Drug Center in the city of Dushanbe.
