Kyrgyzstan received $1.704, 60 billion of foreign investments in first six month of 2008. Whereof $303.16,9mln are direct foreign investments, $12.7 thousand – portfolio investments, $22.52mln – technical aid and grants and $1.378,503,4bln – other sources, Kyrgyz National Statistics Committee reported.

Total amount of investments went up to 43.2 percent comparatively with 2007 first half-year, foreign direct investments rose to 46.7 percent, portfolio investments 2.9 percent and other sources went up to 42 percent more than last year.

In the structure of foreign direct investments $18.145,8mln are in equity investments, $7.392,5 are in financial leasing, $45.827,8mln – reinvested earnings, and $231.650,8mln are in other sources. $169.945,5mln were received from foreign joint owners, and $61.705,3mln – from commercial loans.

Most of the investments were made in financial activity ($150.629,7mln), then in manufacturing industry ($49.177,2mln), in domestic products trading and repair – $31.127,2mln, real estate property operations – $30.843,5mln, building investments – $22mln, 173.5 thousand soms and etc.

From the geographical perspective, Bishkek received the largest amount of foreign investments- $243.200mln, Chui oblast – $36.233,9mln, Talas oblast – $16.208mln, Jalalabad oblast – $5.208,1mln, Issyk-Kul oblast – $1.2,06mln, Naryn oblast – $504.8 thousand, Osh oblast- $333.8 thousand and Osh city $325.7 thousand.

Kazakhstan holds the leading point of investing into Kyrgyzstan – $173.886,6mln. Russia sent its investments in amount of $17.409,6mln, and Belarus- $3.292,7mln.
