DUSHANBE, September 16, 2014, Asia-Plus — Russia’s news agency Itar-Tass reports that the Russian Government will remit $6.7 million in the 2014-2016 to the budget of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for the project aimed at improving the wellbeing of one million people residing in nine districts of Tajikistan.  A respective decision was published on Monday in the special portal of legal information.

According to the document, 2.5 million U.S. dollars will be remitted to the UNDP for these purposes in 2014, and 2.1 million U.S. dollars a year will be provided in 2015 and 2016.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been assigned to inform the UN and the government of Tajikistan of the taken decision and a procedure for transfer and use of the said resources with the Russian Ministries of Finance and Economic Development, Itar-Tass said.

The Finance Ministry, for its part, is reportedly obliged to ensure this year the financing of the expenses resultant of budget appropriations earmarked under the subsection “International Relations and International Cooperation” of the “State Expenditure” chapter.
