Kurban Bayram holiday traditionally starts with a festive prayer, which is held in all congregational mosques in Tajikistan. After that the Muslims visit the graves of relatives, going to visit their relatives and friends.

Kurban Bayram holiday is one of two major Muslim festivals, which is celebrated on the 10th day of zulhijah month, or after 2 months and 10 days after Eid al-Fitr.

In Tajikistan Kurban Bayram is officially celebrated since 1991.
