DUSHANBE, March 26, Asia-Plus – Two persons were shot dead and two others were seriously wounded on March 22 as former police officers fired at them, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

A reliable source at a MoI said that the incident took place at the Mayakovsky Street in Dushanbe.  People were celebrating the Navrouz holiday.  “Following quarrel, former police officer Narimon Abdurahmonov fired at three persons,” said the source, “One of them, Jurakhon Saidov died on the spot, while two others, Mahmadrajab Saidov and Rustam Hakimov, sustained serious wounds and were taken to the hospital.”  

After that, Abdurahmonov made for his acquaintance Isroil Sodiqov, who allegedly owed him a certain amount of money and also shot him to death.  “Several hours later, Abdurahmonov gave himself up,” the source said.
