President Emomali Rahmon, who is also the Head of the Government of Tajikistan, on April 22 met with newly appointed police officials, who were assigned to key positions in the Interior Ministry.
The Tajik president’s official website reports that by government’s decree Ilhomiddin Valizoda was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs. It is not yet specified which of the current deputies of the Interior Minister Ramazon Rahimzoda he will replace.
Currently, there are four deputies working in the minister's office: one first deputy and three deputies by departments.
Personnel changes also occurred in various structures of the Interior Ministry.
Major-General Rustam Mirzomurodzoda was relieved of his post of Head of the Interior Ministry Traffic Police Directorate.
Colonel Mirali Abdurahmonzoda was appointed to head the Interior Ministry Traffic Police Directorate
Additionally, Major-General Bakhtiyor Nazarzoda was appointed to head of the Interior Ministry Criminal Investigation Directorate, replacing Colonel Tohir Barotzoda, who was appointed as Head of the Interior Ministry Directorate for Prevention of Juvenile and Youth Crime.
Colonel Rustambek Mirzozoda was appointed to head the Interior Ministry Firefighting Service, replacing Bakhtiyar Umarzoda. Umarzoda has not yet been appointed to another position, and information about his further career remains unknown.
Moreover, Jafar Abduqodirzoda became the new Head of the Interior Ministry Information and Analytical Center and Suhrob Ramazonzoda was appointed to head the Interior Ministry Expert-Criminalistics Department.
Kamoljon Sodiqzoda was appointed as the Head of the Interpol National Central Bureau for Tajikistan, which is a sub-division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Abdughaffor Azizzoda was appointed to head the Police Department in Hisor City.
New chiefs of police departments in Tursunzoda, Panjakent, Guliston, Konibodom and Levakant cities, Muminobod, Danghara, Khuroson, Shahritous, Yovon, Baljuvon, Spitamen, Mastchoh, Ayni and Vanj districts, as well in Dushanbe’s Firdavsi and Shohmansour districts.
During a meeting with the newly appointed police officials, the president emphasized the importance of maintaining proper etiquette when interacting with citizens, studying international languages, and using modern information technologies in their professional activities.
He also drew attention to the need for monitoring compliance with new legislative requirements in the use of electricity, as well as fostering youth and providing professional training for young personnel in the Interior Ministry.
The president also noted that the new appointments should serve as an example of honesty and dedication to their work, urging the new leaders to “perform their duties with honor and responsibility.”
