KHOROG, January 30, Asia-Plus — On January 28, a certificate “the Best Medical Facility of Year” was handed to the GBAO regional hospital in Khorog.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the GBAO regional hospital head physician Shodi Gulayozov said that the Ministry of Health handed such a certificate for the best work indices.
“Last year, our doctors performed 3,343 operations,” said Gulayozov, “Renovation of some departments of the hospital has allowed improving services and raising recovery rate.”
According to him, they arranged endovideosurgery last year that allowed simplifying performance and improving quality of some types of operations. “With support of the government, some 2 million somoni were allocated last year for construction and renovation of departments at the hospital,” the head physician said.
Besides, major repairs to a three-storey building that will place surgery and urology departments will be completed this year. They have also begun construction of a new maternity house at the hospital.
Office equipment was handed over to the hospital together with the certificate, Gulayozov said.
