DUSHANBE, April 7, 2011, Asia-Plus — S.G., 45, from Khatlon’s Panj district has been detained in Dushanbe on suspicion of having been involved in drug pushing, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

The source at a MoI says S.G. was detained on April 6 and 2.5 kilograms of hashish were confiscated from him.  “When searching his car, police officers found three more kilograms of hashish,” he noted.  S.G. reportedly had previous conviction for drug pushing.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug peddler and an investigation is under way.
