Prospects for development of communications and modern telecommunications in Turkmenistan were discussed at a meeting between Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and head of “Systema” joint-stock financial corporation Leonid Melamed and head of Mobile TeleSystems” joint-stock company Michail Shamolin.
Introducing Michail Shamolin, new head of Mobile TeleSystems” joint-stock company, to the head of state, head of “Systema” joint-stock financial corporation Leonid Melamed expressed confidence that “productive cooperation between MTS and Turkmenistan will successfully continue,” the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat.
According to the president of Turkmenistan, “hundreds of thousands of citizens of Turkmenistan can now enjoy modern communications, first of all mobile communication, and have access to Internet owing in many respects to MTS efforts.”
During the meeting, L.Melamed briefed the president of Turkmenistan on the pace of implementation of a number of joint communications and telecommunications projects. “”Sistema” joint stock financial corporation is highly interested in establishing multifaceted cooperation with Turkmen partners,” L.Melamed said. He also briefed the president of Turkmenistan on basic activities of Systema.
Noting that “cooperation with Systema joint stock financial corporation has every chance to be mutually advantageous and productive”, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed Turkmenistan”s readiness “to study any proposals in this regard.”
