DUSHANBE, July 14, 2009, Asia-Plus — A July 13 meeting of the Dushanbe mayor’s office, presided over by its head, Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, considered a number of issues related to the targeted use of budgetary funds and the results of work of municipal services over the first six month period, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

Mayor Ubaidulloyev charged his deputy, Marouf Sayfiyev, to inspect, within three months, activities of the enterprises that had been privatized in Dushanbe over the past three years.

Such a decision was made in connection with the fact that some of the privatized enterprises have not been in operation or their activities do not comply with the privatization goals.

Besides, the Dushanbe branch of Barqi Tojik power holding was charged to tighten control over rational consumption of electric power in the city, the spokesman said.
