DUSHANBE, March 20, 2010, Asia-Plus  — The 27-year-old wrestler from the city of Qurghon Teppa Muhammad Abdurahmonov won the republican gushtingiri (Tajik national wrestling) competition in Danghara, finishing first in an absolute weight category (-100 kg+), according to the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affairs under the Government of Tajikistan.

Abdurahmonov became holder of the main prize of the tournament – a car VAZ-2107.

A wrestler from Khatlon province Isroil Nematov, who participated in the weight category of -80 kg, became holder of the “Jomi Navrouz” Cup, the source said.

We will recall that organized by the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affairs in cooperation with Danghara district administration on occasion of the Navrouz Holiday, the competition took place in the Danghara district, Khatlon province on March 19 and wrestlers from all regions of the country participated in that tournament.
