DUSHANBE. May 31. “Asia-Plus” — Even despite blockage of rail wagons by Uzbekistan, Tajikistan should not revise its participation in CIS, CSTO, SCO, a popular Tajik political analyst, doctor of philosophy Rustam Haidarov said while commenting on the position of some experts who urge Tajikistan to withdraw from a series of organizations due to the blockage of Tajik rail wagons by Uzbekistan.

Haidarov believes that Tajikistan should use related institutes for regulation of problems that emerge with neighboring country. “Tajikistan did not use the entire political potential of the aforementioned organizations to protect its national interests,” he believes. “Therefore, any suggestions that Tajikistan should withdraw from CIS, CSTO and SCO due to blockage of rail wagons by Uzbekistan are unconstructive and non-productive. Tajikistan should drop the policy of demonstrative demarche while trying to settle various problems of bilateral relations in the frames of CIS since such policy will never bring any fruits.”

Furthermore, he believes that before withdrawal from SCTO, CIS and SCO Tajikistan should find an alternative to these organizations and strengthen its positions in another international organizations and communities.

He believes that Tajikistan should search reliable opportunities for a dialogue for resolution of any disputable issue even if the other side is not eager to establish such a dialogue.

“We should demonstrate the entire global community that Tajikistan prefers peaceful and constructive ways of resolution of problems that emerge in Central Asian region. Tajikistan should establish a dialogue with Uzbekistan at the highest level. These talks will never be easy and will more likely be very long but I can’t see any other alternative. Tajikistan needs long-term peace with Uzbekistan and good neighborly relations. This is the only way to implement our economic projects,” Haidarov has said.
