The source at a MoC said the sides had discussed issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of cultural cooperation between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation.

They, in particular, noted that holding of Days of Culture of the Russian Federation in Tajikistan was an important step towards further expansion of cultural cooperation between the two countries and strengthening of friendship between the peoples of Tajikistan and Russia.

After the meeting, the Russian delegation members met with reporters.

Asked about development of the art of opera and ballet in Tajikistan, Cherepnikov noted that they planned to send a special troupe of opera singers and ballet dancers to the Opera and Ballet Theater in Dushanbe.

In the meantime, Days of Culture of the Russian Federation in Tajikistan are going on.  Today, Russian artistes are giving a concert in the city of Tursunzoda.

We will recall that some 60 Russian artistes arrived in Tajikistan to participate in Days of the Culture of Russia in Tajikistan.  Among them are musicians, opera singers and ballet dancers from “The Kremlin Ballet” Theater.  The event started on October 7 and will last until October 11.
