Sughd prosecutor’s office investigates 11 cases against 18 local law enforcement officers this year

KHUJAND, October 14, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Over the first nine months of this year, Sughd prosecutors have conducted 610 inspections and more than 3,500 injunctions and objections as well as 703 suggestions have been sent to appropriate bodies over the report period, Sughd chief prosecutor Yusuf Rahmonov announced at a news conference in Khujand on October 13.

According to him, disciplinary and administrative actions have been imposed upon 4,182 people and 194 criminal cases have been instituted and investigated on the basis of general oversight over the report period.

“In January-September, prosecutors have investigated 11 criminal proceedings instituted against 18 law enforcement officers,” said Sughd chief prosecutor, “Nine cases have already moved to courts, one case has been suspended and the other one is still under investigation.”
