DUSHANBE, October 27, 2010, Asia-Plus – Tajik leader has shown that he is real friend of the Afghan people, Mohammad Younis Qanooni, the current Speaker of Wolesi Jirga (Afghanistan’s lower house of parliament), said in an interview with Asia-Plus. 

“If international community considered President Rahmon’s opinions on methods and measures to establish peace and stability in our country, peace would have come to Afghanistan long ago,” Mr. Qanooni noted.

Afghan speaker added that Emomali Rahmon has repeatedly proved in word and in deed that Tajikistan is real friend and supporter of peaceful settlement of the Afghan problems.

In the meantime, Javanshir Haidari, the chairman of Afghan Cinematographers’ Union, said in an exclusive interview with Asia-Plus on October 26 that no foreign leader has done good for Afghanistan as much as Tajik President Emomali Rahmon have done.

According to him, Afghanistan and Tajikistan have never had any serious problems or disagreements.  “Today, an official opening of a new building of Tajik Embassy in Kabul took place with participation of President Hamid Karzai and President Emomali Rahmon,” Haidari said.

“Tajikistan has shown the world over the last nine years that it is real friend of Afghanistan and its people,” Javanshir Haidari noted.
