DUSHANBE, July 25, 2011, Asia-Plus — A Russian national has been detained with a large amount of hashish in Dushanbe.

The source at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) says resident of the Russian city of Lipetsk, D.R, 21, was detained in Dushanbe on July 24 on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking.  Some 900 grams of hashish were confiscated from him.

When searching apartment which he leased, police officers found 22 packages containing more than 20 kilograms of hashish.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained rug trafficker and an investigation is under way.
