DUSHANBE, March 27, 2012, Asia-Plus  — President Emomali Rahmon today received participants of the Fifth Regional Economic Conference on Afghanistan (RECCA V) that is concluding in the Tajik capital today, president’s official website reports.

President Rahmon’ meeting with Ms. Kori Udovicki, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, UNDP Regional Director for Europe and the CIS reportedly focused on implementation of the UN-sponsored projects in Tajikistan.

President Rahmon and Mohammad Hijazi, Deputy Foreign Minister of Egypt discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Egypt.  The sides agreed that it was necessary to intensify activities of the Tajik-Egyptian intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation, the source said.
