DUSHANBE, June 23, 2012, Asia-Plus — The 2012 OSCE Security Days conference will take place at the Hofburg Congress Centre in Vienna on Monday, 25 June.

According to press release issue by the OSCE, a prominent group of experts, think tanks and OSCE delegates will discuss new security challenges and the role of civil society in shaping a security community.

The opening speeches will be delivered by the OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier; the Permanent Representative of Ireland to the OSCE Eoin O”Leary on behalf of the 2012 Irish Chairmanship of the OSCE; and the President of the Foreign Policy and United Nations Association of Austria (OGAVN) and former Chancellor of the Republic of Austria Wolfgang Schussel.

Sessions will focus on developing new approaches to conventional arms control, addressing protracted conflicts and facilitating reconciliation. Each session will be followed by an open debate.
