DUSHANBE, September 6, 2013, Asia-Plus – Commander of Tajik Border Troops, Lieutenant-General Sherali Mirza, will take part in the work of the next meeting of the Council of Border Troops Commanders (CBTC) of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which will take place on 9 September in the capital of Azerbaijan.

A source in the Border Troops General Directorate of the National Security Committee told Asia-Plus that the agenda of the meeting includes consideration of provision of emergency assistance to Tajikistan in order to strengthen security on the Tajik-Afghan border.

The source said: “The meeting participants will also sum up their activities and plans of the Council for 2013, discuss the development of a methodological manual on implementation of joint research projects, conducted in the CBTC frame, methodological recommendations on the application of forms and methods of CIS member-states external border management in modern conditions, commentaries to new model laws for the protection of state borders, term glossaries, used by states in border sphere.”
