The work on organization of the first exhibition of Tajikistan’s industrial goods in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, has begun.

“Sixty-four enterprises will participate in the exhibition in Tashkent.  They will put on display their achievements in mechanical engineering, mining, light and food industries, and aluminum production, of course,” the Minister of Industry and New Technologies  of Tajikistan, Mr. Shavkat Bobozoda, told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, the preference will be given to products of the food industry.

“We have experience in organizing and holding such exhibitions, and I think that the upcoming event will be held at the proper level,” the minister added.

An agreement on holding mutual industrial exhibition was reached between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan at the beginning of this year.

A major trade fair of Uzbekistan’s exports, including auto goods and food products, took place at the Poytakht-90 Center in Dushanbe from April 17 to 20.   There were more than 1,500 types of products from 160 Uzbek manufacturers at the exhibition, Asia-Plus reports.  It should be noted that such a large-scale event in the sphere of economic cooperation between the two nations was held for the first time in two decades.

Meanwhile, the first exhibition of Tajikistan industrial goods is scheduled to take place in September this year.
