A 32-year-old resident of Khatlon’s Hamadoni district, Rustam Safarov, has been detained on suspicion of stealing nearly half a million dollars from one of Dushanbe construction companies.
According to the Dushanbe police directorate, Rustam Safarov penetrated into the head office of the company on December 16, 2017, cracked the safe and stole 470,000 U.S. dollars, 10,000 somoni, men’s watch and gold seal-ring
During arrest, 330,000 U.S. dollars have been confiscated from Rustam Safarov.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Safarov under the provisions of Article 244 (4) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – theft; and investigation is under way.
