The chief of the traffic police department of the northern city of Istiqlol (formerly Taboshar) has been arrested for taking bribe.
The head of the traffic police department of Istiqlol (Sughd province), Firdavs Ghafforov, has been caught red-handed while taking bribe from local motorcyclist, who had no driving license, according to the press center of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption.
The anticorruption agency says criminal proceedings have been instituted against the Istiqlol chief traffic cop under the provisions of Article 319 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – acceptance of bribe; an investigation is under way.
