On Monday April 13, 2020, Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin received the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Tajikistan, Ambassador Marilyn Josefson, according to the Tajik MFA information department.

In the course of the talks, the parties discussed state and prospect of further expansion of collaboration between Tajikistan and the European Union.

They also exchanged views on issues related to preventing the spreading of a novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Tajikistan.

In this regards, Ambassador Marilyn Josefson reportedly informed about the intention of the EU to provide 48 million euros to support the Tajik authorities’ preventive and mitigation efforts against the novel coronavirus.  

The two also discussed a number of other issues being of mutual interest, the Tajik MFA information department said.
