In a statement released on April 10, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan informs that in order to implement preventive and mitigation measures against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), temporary restrictions have been introduced on the entry and exit of all citizens of foreign states and stateless persons via all the border crossing points (NCPs) along Tajikistan’s border.

The Tajik MFA information department notes that these restrictions do not apply to diplomats of foreign states and representatives of international organizations and financial institutions, as well as members of their families accredited in Tajikistan.

In case of entry of the specified category of persons into the territory of the republic, the procedure of mandatory 14-day self-isolation in the places of their permanent residence under the supervision of employees of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Republic of Tajikistan is provided.

Also, temporary restrictions do not apply to drivers engaged in international cargo transportation (according to the temporary order), crews of aircraft and crews of international railway traffic.

If it becomes necessary to leave the Republic of Tajikistan for citizens of foreign states that are not included in the above categories, the Republican Commission for the Prevention of Penetration and Spread of COVID-19 is ready to consider official appeals of the states of their affiliation, including the organization of charter flights.
