DUSHANBE, January 9, Asia-Plus – A mild earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale jolted Dushanbe Monday night.
The Institute of Seismology of Tajik Academy of Sciences said that the tremor struck at around 10:22 p.m. According to the source, the earthquake was centered on the border of Tajikistan with Kyrgyzstan, some 180 kilometers northeast of Dushanbe. In the epicenter, the tremor’s magnitude was 5.0 on the Richter scale.
The tremor could be felt in other regions of Tajikistan as well. In Khujand, the tremors magnitude was 4.0 and in Norak 3.5
According to the Committee for Emergency Situations, no injured or damage was reported.
