A 27-year-old pilot of the armed forces of Tajikistan, Captain Ehsonjon Jalolov, was killed on September 2 as two cars collided in Dushanbe, according to the Interior Ministry press center.

The accident reportedly took place in the afternoon not far from the Madad market.  The driver of Toyota Land Cruiser 200 appeared to have lost control of his car and it crashed at Jalolov’s Mercedes-Benz.  Jalolov died in a hospital from injuries he sustained in the accident.

“Captain Jalolov has left behind a wife and a child,” Colonel Faridoun Mahmadalizoda, a spokesman for the Ministry of Defense (MoD), told Asia-Plus in an interview.

Ehsonjon Jalolov graduated from Russian military flying school five years ago and joined the Tajik Air Force.  “Captain Jalolov was highly valued as up and coming specialist,” Mahmadalizoda said.

Captain Jalolov’s father, Rafiqjon Jalolov, is a veteran of the Defense Ministry of Tajikistan; he had also been a pilot of the armed force of Tajikistan.

The Air Force is the aerial military service branch of Tajikistan’s armed forces of Tajikistan. It is currently a small branch, consisting of 20 aircraft.  It takes part in search and rescue, and transportation operations.
