26-year-old man burns father’s car after being denied a vehicle

Date:

According to a video report from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) titled "Akbori VKD" Interior Ministry’s News), a 26-year-old man is suspected of setting his father’s car on fire.

Interior Ministry says Mahmadsharif Safarov, a resident of Chorbogh village in Varzob district, reported that an unknown individual had set fire to his Toyota Camry, which was parked in the courtyard of his home.

After conducting an investigation, police arrested the suspect, who turned out to be Safarov’s son, 26-year-old Sorbon Gulov, a resident of the city of Levakant in Khatlon province.

"The reason for the arson was the son's dissatisfaction with his father’s failure to fulfill a promise to buy him a car.  In retaliation, he decided to set his father's vehicle on fire," the report states.

Although the car was not completely destroyed by the fire, the damage caused by the arson was estimated at 11,600 somonis.
