DUSHANBE, November 19, Asia-Plus  — Sughd farmers now have an opportunity to realize their goods in Dushanbe without resellers.

Shavkat Saidov, spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said in an interview with Asia-Plus that by capital mayor’s order the second floor of the Barakat market in the center of Dushanbe had been allotted to Sughd farmers.   

Beginning on November 25, farmers from the northern Sughd province will be able to directly sell their goods to Dushanbe residents, the spokesman said.  

Besides, the Dushanbe mayor’s office is ready to allot a parcel of land in the city to Sughd entrepreneurs for construction of modern market.  

Speaking at a November 19 session of the Dushanbe mayor’s office, capital mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev ordered that the city budget for 2008 should earmark funds for completing construction of the Water Park in Dushanbe.
