A new youth branch of the ruling People’s and Democratic party of Tajikistan – Sozandagoni Vatan (Homeland’s Creators) was set up in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast.

The branch held its constituent assembly this week in Khorog, chairman of the Sozandagoni Vatan Adham Mirsaidov told the AP. The assembly elected Ruslan Shodykov as head of the branch.

He is a member of PDPT Supreme Council. “Now, PDPT’s youth wing has branches in all regions of the country,” Mirsaidov has said.

PDPT’s youth wing was established in April last year and in November it was officially registered by Tajik Justice Ministry. Currently, the youth organization has around 60.000 members – including young people under 30 years of age, who are also members of PDPT. They have automatically joined the Homeland’s Creators organization.
