Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon is scheduled to deliver his Annual Message to the Parliament today in Dushanbe.

According to President’s press service, President is due to summarize the results of his last year’s message and will outline directions for internal and external policy of the country, development of socio-economic conditions for 2012.

Heads of cities and regions of the republic as well as heads of ministries, regions, diplomats accredited in Tajikistan, representatives of the media are traditionally invited to take part in the joint session of the two Chambers of Tajikistan’s Parliament.

In his 2011 Annual Message President Rahmon focused on energy, namely on the construction of Rogun and Sangtuda-2 HPPs. In this message he said that feasibility study and ecologic expertise for the Rogun HPP will be completed in May 2011. He also said that Sangtuda-2 HPP, which is being constructed by Iran, will become operational by the end of 2011. Rahmon stressed that in the next three years Tajikistan will be able to provide its energy independence.

President Rahmon also suggested to free businessmen, who have just started their business, from all types of audits and checks for a three year period and ordered the Government to design the country’s new Tax Code till 2012.
