Russian 201st military base is carrying out military exercises in mountain area. The goal of the exercises is to reveal, block and destroy potential enemy in mountain area.

Yesterday Russian troops from Dushanbe, Kurgon-Teppa and Kulob moved to the firing ground. Thus, Russian troops started tactical military exercises with fire training.

The manoeuvres are taking place at three fire grounds of the Russian military base – in Lyaur, Momirak and Sambuli, press service of the Central Military District reports. In the course of the war games new methods to reveal, block and destroy the potential enemy in mountain area will be tested. Soldiers will also work out the issues of collaboration with supporting units and continue to develop new fighting methods in modern wars and armed conflicts.

Training fields have created a complex atmosphere of modern combat and installed shooting marks for all types of weapon and combat machines, the source reported.

Furthermore, training grounds are equipped with training mine fields, multiple types of non-explosive wire barriers.

The troops are expected to apply more than 15.000 cartridges, more than 2000 grenades and nearly 500 land mines and shells.
