KHUJAND, September 28, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Three persons were killed on September 27 as a car with three persons on board fell into a precipice in the Ayni district, according to the Sughd traffic police department.

The accident took place in the Takfon area at around 9:00 pm.  “The 35-year-old resident of Dushanbe Bahrom Afghonov probably failed to control his Opel-Vectra into the 200-meter deep precipice,” said the source.  “Bahrom Afghonov and his two passengers – Ms. Bibimaysara Ashourova, 54, from the Roudaki district and Mr. Mirdaler Obidov, 25, from the Isfara district – died on the spot.”

According to the statistical data from the Sughd traffic police department, 207 traffic accidents have been registered in the province over the first eight months of this year; 97 persons have been killed and 218 other persons have been injured in those accidents.

Another fatal traffic accident was reported on Thursday in the Rasht Valley (eastern Tajikistan), according to the Interior Ministry traffic police department.

The accident took place on the 210th kilometer of the highway from Dushanbe to Jirgatol.    Abdujalol Karimov failed to control his Opel-Astra and hit two children – Mohammad Mustafo, 9, and Idibek Khoushvaqtov, 12.  Both boys died on the spot.
