DUSHANBE, November 7, 2014, Asia-Plus – A Tajik government delegation, led by deputy Prime Minister, Azim Ibrohim, attended the 10th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) that took place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) from October 28 to October 30, 2014.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, Azim Ibrohim delivered a statement about the economic climate in Tajikistan and opportunities of investing in Tajikistan’s economy.

Organized by the WIEF Foundation and Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the forum was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

The three-day event reportedly brought together heads of state and governors, top-level CEOs, leaders and experts from the global economic arena to discuss issues related to various aspects of economy and Islamic investment, application of modern agricultural technologies and introduction of modern technologies into the education and health sectors, training of personnel in Islamic modes of banking, participation of women and youth in entrepreneurship, and investment in communications.

Business prospects in the Muslim World were reportedly also showcased bringing a focus on the broader halal industries including finance, food, tourism, leisure, education and standardization.

The next World Islamic Economic Forum is expected to take place in Kuala-Lumpur, Malaysia from October 10-15, 2015.
