DUSHANBE, December 9, 2014, Asia-Plus — A three-day military and methodical training for regional administrators began at the Sughd garrison today.

Faridoun Mahmadaliyev, a spokesman for the Ministry of Defense (MoD), says the First Deputy Minister of Defense, Zarif Sharifzoda, is in overall command of the training, which will run through December 11.

“The training participants are practicing organization of territorial defense and mobilization of the population during emergency situations,” Mahmadaliyev said.  According to him, the city and district heads will also improve their shooting skills.

Minister of Defense, Lieutenant-General Sherali Mirzo, is expected to meet with the training participants on December 11, the spokesman added.
