Dushanbe. 19 August. “Asia Plus” — The convicted ex-head of the Democratic Party of Tajikistan, which has served his sentence in a Dushanbe prison over 10 years, transferred to a prison near Vahdat for the interview with Radio Ozodi.

As Ozodi informed, referring to the brother of the prisoner Abbosidina Khomidov, after publication of the interview with politician, the chairman of the Main Department of criminal penalties Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan invited him to talk, and for non-fulfillment of prison rules, as a punishment, he transferred him in Vahdat, to a strict regime colony. According to Hamidov, in this way the authorities wanted to break the link between the press and Iskandarov.

A source in the Main Directorate of criminal punishment confirmed Ozodi the transference of Iskandarov from Dushanbe in Vahdat, but he did not specify the reasons for such a decision.

On 11th of August Ozodi radio published an interview with Iskandarov, where politician said that the inter-Tajik peace and accord agreement concluded after the civil war in Tajikistan was wrong, and the conclusion of peace is false.

Recall, that the leader of the Democrats was sentenced in 2005 to 23 years.
