Analytical website Kaktakto notes that compared to capital cities of other Central Asian nations Dushanbe is the cheapest city to rent an apartment.

Thus, an average rent price for one-room apartment in downtown Dushanbe is 226.00 U.S. dollars (USD) and an average rent price for one-room apartment in uptown Dushanbe is 174.00 U.S. dollars.

In Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), average rent prices for one-room apartment are 279.00 USD in the center of the city and 183.00 USD on the outskirts of the city; in the Kazakh capital, Astana – 366.00 USD and 262.00 USD respectively; and in Ashgabat (Turkmenistan) – 481.00 USD and 283.00 USD respectively.

There is different picture concerning average rent prices for three-room apartments.  The cheapest rent prices for three-room apartment are reported in the Kyrgyz capital of Bishkek – 493.00 USD in the center of the city and 295.00 USD on the outskirts of the city.

Bishkek is followed by Dushanbe — 594.00 USD in the center of the city and 328.00 USD on the outskirts of the city.

The most expensive rent prices for three-room apartment are in the Kazakh capital, Astana.  An average rent price for three-room apartment in downtown Astana is 1,002 USD and an average rent price for three-room apartment in uptown Astana is 490.00 U.S. dollars.    

Meanwhile, the cheapest residential dwelling prices are reported in Bishkek.  An average cost per one square meter in downtown Bishkek is 671.00 USD and an average cost per one square meter in uptown Bishkek is 509.00 USD.  

In Dushanbe, average costs per one square meter are 725.00 USD in the center of the city and 706.00 USD on the outskirts of the city.

The most expensive residential dwelling is reported in Ashgabat.  An average cost per one square meter in downtown Ashgabat is 2,750.00 USD and an average cost per one square meter in uptown Ashgabat is 2,143 USD.
