According to the Geophysics Service of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.0-4.0 on a 12-poitn scale jolted Dushanbe at 12:07 of January 31.

The tremor could be felt in the Rash Valley (eastern Tajikistan) and the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) as well.

No damage or injured was reported, according to the source.

The Geophysics Service says the quake’s epicenter was located in the territory of Afghanistan, some 280 kilometers southeast of Dushanbe.

Meanwhile, US Geological Survey (USGS) reports the earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 occurred on January 31 some 35 kilometers south of Jarm in the Hindu Kush mountains in the country's northeast at the depth of 191.2 kilometers below the surface.

International media reports say a young girl was killed and five others wounded in the village of Lasbela in Pakistan's Baluchistan province when the roofs of mud-brick homes caved in.  Besides, three more people were reportedly hurt in Afghanistan's Badakhshan region as a result of the tremors.
