The government has endorsed the procedure of holding a contest for the best draft design of the “Independence and Freedom” Architectural Complex that will be built in Dushanbe and the composition of the contest commission that will be led by Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda, source in the Tajik government told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, the commission members include Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali, Deputy Prime Minister Azim Obrohim, Minister of Culture Shamsiddin Ourumbekzoda and some other high-ranking state officials.  

“The complex will be built in the area of 8.5 ha near the Campus of Tajik National University, locally known as Jazeera (Islet),” the source added.

Recall, the Government of Tajikistan has announced contest for the best draft design of the mentioned architectural complex on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence. 

The contest has reportedly been announced for the purpose of protecting cultural values and raising national consciousness.

Both local and foreign legal and physical entities may participate in in this open contest.  The deadline for accepting the draft designs is April 30, 2018. 

The draft designs should be submitted to the Committee on Architecture and Construction under the government of Tajikistan.  The winner of the contest will receive a money prize.
